From a One-Car Garage to More Than 40 Years in Motion
Rich’s career with Golden dates back to the company’s earliest days.
Golden Technologies was founded in 1985 by Rich’s father, Robert Golden Sr., and Fred Kiwak, who began building lift chairs in a one-car garage in Pittston, Pennsylvania. Rich was one of Golden’s first employees and helped grow the family business before becoming CEO in 1991.
More than four decades later, Golden has grown into a leading manufacturer of power lift recliners and mobility products while remaining family-owned and operated in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
Throughout that growth, Rich has helped guide Golden with the same founding principles that shaped the company from the start: build quality products, take care of people and “Build It Right the First Time.”
That commitment extends beyond product innovation. Rich has remained equally passionate about the people behind Golden and the community the company calls home. Known for his humility, generosity and genuine willingness to help others, Rich leads with a people-first approach that has helped shape Golden’s culture.
